I’ve been following this project for a few years now, and despite being part of the inner circle of Finnish industrial/PE, I don’t think it gets quite the recognition it deserves. It seems the releases sell out, but maybe it’s just a quantity issue. Eight releases in 5 years is almost unheard of in a genre when most seem to fart out about one a week. Could be he cares about the quality…or maybe just drinks too much.
On “Corrupt” it seems things have turned away from the noisier aspects of PE and more towards a darker, industrial tone with Genocide Organ-type low rumbles and heavily filtered vocals. Side A kicks off with “Warmachines Of Zion”. Some military sounding samples and thin mechanical noise threading throughout, it becomes a bit more aggressive as the vocals kick in about the halfway mark a good start, but could’ve used a bit more low-end. “Jesaja 24:1-6” seems to correct that issue with a solid stream of low rumbling. Some machine-like hums and stabs of high ends punctuate the track nicely. Finishing of the first side is “Orgies Of Golgatha”, one of my favorites from the tape. This one begins with what I’m assuming is a movie sample I can’t place, then delves into some really dark, near ambient tones. It still keeps the industrial rumbling heaviness, but just pairs it well.
Side B begins with another great track, “Pulse Of Fear/Terminal Care”. This one adds a rhythmic element to the hum and hiss that gradually morphs into a heartbeat. “The Process” is the most chaotic of the bunch, strange staggering buzzes and off-kilter slices of sound, but also has the most aggressive use of vocals. Closing out the release is “Gospel Of Sacrifice”, another of my favorites. It’s total oscillating madness. Everything seems to pulse and vibrate wildly and features the most discernable vocals of any of the tracks. A nice closer.
Limited to 150 copies, the packaging is fantastic for this one: heavy corrugated plastic plates with spray painted logo and title are bolted together to sandwich the tape and eight inserts. This one is definitely worth tracking down, especially if you’re a fan of more industrial influenced PE.
